On June 12 at Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club, golfers from all over the country joined together to raise funds and awareness for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Spearheaded by Phil and Kathy Halcomb, the 15th Annual David Allen Company MS Golf Tournament was a huge success, raising $70,000 to support local programs and services offered by the National Capital Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Top sponsors for the 2009 tournament include LATICRETE, Dal-Tile Corp, T&M Supply Company, and the David Allen Company Corporate Office.

Twenty years ago, Kathy Halcomb was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that can eventually lead to paralysis. A few years later she got involved with a support group for people living with MS, and soon after joining realized what little financial support the group had. In talking to her husband, an idea was born to host a golf tournament to raise additional funds. In its first year, the David Allen Company MS Golf Tournament raised $800. Since 2004, the tournament has raised over $316,000.

David Allen Company – which focuses on concept design and installation for ceramic tile, marble, stone, terrazzo and epoxy flooring – is currently working on plans for next year’s tournament, set for Friday, September 17, 2010.
