NWFA announces consolidation with NOFMA
December 18, 2008
The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and NOFMA, the
Wood Flooring Manufacturers Association, have announced that they officially
have consolidated. The formal agreement
was signed at a Manufacturer’s Assembly held in St. Louis at NWFA Headquarters on December
16. The two organizations now function
jointly under the National Wood Flooring Association name.
More than 50 manufacturer representatives were
in attendance at the meeting to witness the announcement. NWFA Chairman, Ken
Schumacher, and NOFMA President, Bob Haggard, were on hand to
sign the agreement.
“This is an historic occasion,” stated Ed Korczak, NWFA Executive
Director/CEO. “NOFMA
brings more than 100 years of experience to the NWFA and has a solid reputation
within the wood flooring industry. We
welcome their contributions and expertise.”
The NOFMA grading standards will remain intact
and now will be monitored by the NWFA.
“NOFMA’s staff will continue to conduct plant inspections as they always
have, but will now do so as NWFA employees,” states Korczak. “NOFMA developed these standards and has done
an outstanding job maintaining them, so we want to present continuity for those
manufacturers that have come to rely on these standards in their grading
processes.”
The National Wood Flooring Association is a
non-profit trade organization, with more than 4,000 members world-wide,
dedicated to educating consumers, architects, designers, specifiers and
builders in the uses and benefits of wood flooring. NWFA members receive the best in educational
training, benefits, technical resources and networking, to advance their
professionalism and success. The NWFA is
located at 111 Chesterfield
Industrial Boulevard, Chesterfield,
MO 63005,
and can be contacted at 1-800-422-4556, or on-line at www.nwfa.org.
