John Cox

The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) has elected John Cox, founder and president of Cox Tile in San Antonio, Texas, as president for the 2008-2010 term. Cox replaces Frank Cantu who served as president from 2006-2008.

Cox has been in the tile industry for more than 33 years, opening Cox Tile in 1981 in his native Texas. A member of the NTCA Technical Committee, Cox has played an active role in shaping the direction of the NTCA for several years, and will now oversee the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, while working directly with the staff to ensure the goals of the NTCA are implemented during his two-year term. Cox hopes to build membership, educate the industry, and will be instrumental in developing a Sectional Directors program to help spread the word on the many benefits for tile contractors belonging to the NTCA.

“I’m excited about the next two years that I’ll be serving as president,” said Cox. “I’m confident and elated to be working with the NTCA staff. They are a great group of people that are dedicated and passionate about the tile industry. They work extremely hard to help contractors succeed. We certainly face some challenges. The stability of the economy is a concern for all of us. We’re going to have to be creative and explore different avenues to maintain our business’s over the next few years. That’s why it’s important that we educate every tile contractor on how powerful being a member of the NTCA is to help them strengthen their position in their respective markets.”
