The World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) is asking flooring industry professionals to contact their local Congressional representatives in support of a proposed tax credit plan aimed at stimulating home improvement item spending.

The request comes after The WFCA joined a coalition (American Home Furnishings and Building Products Coalition, which includes eight other home furnishings and building products groups such as the Carpet and Rug Institute), which is creating a proposal designed to help jumpstart the industry.

The plan proposes temporary refundable consumer tax credits and retailer/distributor/contractor tax credits. Details of the coalition and its progress will be forthcoming by the WFCA.

For a list of key Senate and House leaders involved in deciding the proposal, as well as members of the Senate Finance Committee and House Ways and Means Committee, click here.

The WFCA is also providing a suggested e-mail template for contacting representatives. It can be found here.
