Nearly 100 of Forbo’s sales professionals were given an INSTALL information update recently by INSTALL national Director John McGrath at the manufacturer’s bi-annual sales meeting in San Diego, California.

The International Standards and Training Alliance (INSTALL) was a featured topic at the event, which was coordinated by Forbo’s North American General Manager Denis Darragh, and Technical Services Manager Frank Wiggins. McGrath took participants through an overview of the INSTALL programs, including marketing, training, and certifications, and then explained how specifying the use of INSTALL professionals for the installation of Forbo materials is an asset to jobsite production and customer satisfaction.

Following McGrath’s presentation, Wiggins encouraged the group to include requiring an INSTALL-trained or INSTALL-certified professional in a project’s specifications for Forbo materials.

“Based on the great enthusiasm about INSTALL demonstrated by Forbo representatives at this event, I am confident that Forbo customers across the country will soon benefit from INSTALL-certified workmanship on their projects,” McGrath said.

Forbo is one of the first and most active partners in the INSTALL alliance program, which consists of more than 80 mills, manufacturers, distributors and associations in the flooring industry. These partners regularly review and advise United Brotherhood of Carpenter instructors on how best to refine the flooring curriculum from which INSTALL professionals are taught, so that what’s learned during the four-year apprenticeship program and career-long veteran training is directly needed on the jobsite.
