The Long Island Floor Covering Association will hold an educational seminar on Tuesday, March 31, at the Plainview Holiday Inn on Long Island.  Titled “Preventing and Handling Complaints,” the event will be geared to salespeople in both the retail and wholesale segments of the floor covering industry. A panel of experts will discuss consumer complaints from several points of view and field questions from the audience.

The topics will include avoiding complaints by not overselling, being  honest about what to expect from floor covering products, preparing the customer for what will happen on the day of installation, and making sure a proper maintenance program is in place. The panel will also talk about how to turn complaints into positive experiences by handling them correctly.   A certified inspector will reveal what he looks for, and the legal and warranty aspects of complaints will be covered.

The event is free and light refreshments will be served.  For more information, visit www.LIFloor.com or call 631-617-5059.
