The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) will offer free registration to all attendees for its 2010 Convention, which will be held March 22-25 at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

“As the US economy has weakened, our members have told us that they must reduce the number of their employees that can attend our show each year,” said NWFA Executive Director/CEO, Ed Korczak.  “We’ve looked at our budget carefully and found ways to cut expenses so that we can offer free registration to anyone in our industry who wants to attend.”

The 2010 show will offer all the same programs and events attendees have come to expect.  Included in the Education/Expo package will be a total of 14 educational sessions, and all events occurring in the Expo, including the trade show, lunch each day during the Expo, and a happy hour during the last hour of the Expo.

“Washington, D.C. has tremendous population density,” Korczak said, “so our hope is that by eliminating the cost to attend, and offering a free lunch during each day of the Expo, more wood flooring professionals will be able to attend for just the day.  There won’t be any cost to them other than transportation, and yet they’ll get to experience both the trade show and educational sessions to advance their industry knowledge.  For those attendees looking for more, a Networking package will be offered as well, which will include a fee for attending any networking events that include more elaborate meals and cocktails, like our opening reception, and our awards presentation.”

This year’s show also will feature a new educational focus for architects and designers.  “We’re currently working with the American Institute of Architects to develop a series of CEU programs that would allow architects and designers to earn credits toward their license renewals by attending educational programs at our show,” Korczak said.  Our plan is to develop four different programs, offering two each day during the Expo, along with a free lunch.”
