Q.E.P. Co., Inc. said it has signed an agreement to acquire the business of ArborCraft Floors, which sells its products under the Tarkett and Harris brands. ArborCraft produces a broad line of hardwood flooring, including engineered plank, prefinished solid and unfinished parquets, along with a complete line of moldings and accessories. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“We expect the acquisition of ArborCraft to add significant value to Q.E.P.’s distributor community. This is a first class product line that will fit well with our current portfolio of products,” said Jamie Clingan, Q.E.P.'s sr. vp sales and marketing.

ArborCraft employs approximately 190 people in three facilities in Johnson City, Tenn., and Montpelier, Ind. The primary facility in Johnson City includes more than 300,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and drying space as well as a 192,000 sq. ft. lumber yard on more than 43 acres. The second facility in Johnson City features more than 100,000 sq. ft. of additional drying and manufacturing space on four acres. The Indiana-based facility offers an additional 100,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and drying space on approximately 20 acres, in a leased space.
