The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) has unveiled its
newly redesigned Web site,
www.greenguard.org
The site offers manufacturers a clear roadmap for certifying products and
materials for low chemical emissions. It also provides as an
easy-to-understand outline of the various certification programs that GEI
offers, as well as a list of sustainable credits that architects and designers
can earn by using GREENGUARD Certified products.
The new Web
site also serves as a supplemental marketing tool for participating
manufacturers, prominently showcasing the manufacturers’ brands in high-traffic
areas on the site and linking visitors to the manufacturers’ own Web
sites. Manufacturers also have the option of linking directly to their
product page on the GREENGUARD Product Guide, making it easier than ever to
share their certification information.
“Part of
GEI’s promise to participating product manufacturers is to provide market
support for GREENGUARD Certified products and help them create value through
GREENGUARD Certification,” said Henning Bloech, executive director of
GEI. “Our new and improved Web site allows us to not only educate the
public about indoor air quality, but also to help boost visibility for
GREENGUARD Certified products.”
In addition
to a new overall design, other new features on the Web site include an online
“technical center” that offers detailed technical information; a library of
industry-relevant white papers; and a calendar of events outlining various
conferences and trade shows in which GEI participates. “MyGREENGUARD,” an
improved account management feature on the site for participating
manufacturers, is scheduled to launch in the coming weeks.
The
GREENGUARD Environmental Institute is an industry-independent, third-party,
not-for-profit organization that aims to improve human health through programs
that reduce people’s exposure to chemicals and other indoor pollutants.
The GREENGUARD Certification Programs certify products for low chemical
emissions and provide consumers with a resource for choosing healthier products
and materials for indoor environments. All certified products must meet
stringent standards for low chemical emissions based on established criteria
from key public health agencies. GREENGUARD Certification is broadly recognized
and accepted by sustainable building programs and building codes worldwide.
