The Tile Contractors’ Association of America (TCAA) has awarded the designation of Trowel of Excellence™ Certified Contractor to Boston Tile & Terrazzo Co. of Detroit, MI. A union tile and terrazzo installation company in business for 88 years, Boston Tile & Terrazzo is the recipient of numerous project awards. Its president, E.C. (Bud) Mularoni has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Detroit Tile Contractors Association and the Cesery Award from the TCAA.

The Trowel of Excellence™ recognizes outstanding tile, terrazzo and stone installation companies and provide architects, designers and specifiers "a yardstick by which to measure a company's business practices and performance," the association notes. Companies applying for the designation of Trowel of Excellence™ Certified Contractor must meet stringent criteria that demonstrate superior technical knowledge and craftsmanship, sound business management, fiscal responsibility, effective safety practices and adherence to the highest industry standards.

Boston Tile & Terrazzo, which joins 13 other companies across the country who have achieved Trowel of Excellence™ Certified Contractor status, will be recognized for its achievement during the 2010 TCAA Convention to be held October 2-5 in Orlando, FL.
