Jim Walker and John McHale of the International Certified Floorcovering Association (CFI) recently visited 10 South African cities to provide training and education sessions at Belgotex Carpet. This is the second year that CFI has held educational events at the behest of Belgotex's Allan de Wit, director of technical services for the residential and commercial carpet maker.

"The response has been overwhelming," said de Wit. "We printed the CFI installation guidelines and booklets to distribute to attendees. Belgotex is very excited about the opportunity to host the CFI seminars."

An estimated 1,500 installers, sales representatives and interior designers enrolled in the eight-hour training sessions. Michael Hetts of the Crain Cutter Co. accompanied Walker, CFI's CEO, and McHale, CFI's director of operations. Crain Cutter supplied the tools and equipment for the sessions.
