Schluter Systems has introduced DITRA-XL, a new uncoupling membrane specifically designed to provide solutions to common challenges faced by tile installers. DITRA-XL provides uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management and support/load distribution, but is 5/16” thick, allowing for even transitions between typical ceramic tile and ¾” thick hardwood flooring. The added thickness of DITRA-XL also allows for ceramic tile installations over single layer wood floors with 24” o.c. joist spacing.
