Coverings announces Vegas debut with 2011 show
Organizers of Coverings have announced that the venue for
its 2011 tile and stone exhibition is now officially Las Vegas. The expo will take place March
14-17, 2011, at the Sands
Convention Center.

The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) has
announced that the 2010 edition of its annual Total Solutions Business and
Technical Conference slated for November will now be held in concurrence with
the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association Management Conference, and will also
include the membership of the Tile Council of North America.

The North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA) has announced the dates for the 2010 NALFA Installer Certification School. The comprehensive training curriculum covers all aspects of a quality laminate installation and will give the attendees the skills necessary to perform installations to high standards and craftsmanship in the field.

Q.E.P. to buy ArborCraft
Q.E.P. Co., Inc. said it has signed an agreement
to acquire the business of ArborCraft Floors, which sells its products under
the Tarkett and Harris brands.

 | MAPEI's technical services manager addresses DCC
Pierre Hebert, manager of Technical Services for MAPEI Inc.,
recently gave a presentation during a dinner conference held by the Montreal
Chapter of DCC (Construction Specification Canada) that included key points on
the proper surface preparation necessary to achieve successful ceramic, stone and
soft floor-covering installations.

HomerWood Hardwood Flooring, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, announced its Titusville, Pa.

Three Shaw plants earn 'zero waste to landfill' status
Three Shaw Industries plants are now “zero waste to landfill,” the company said. The facilities include two Tuftex carpet manufacturing plants in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., and a Shaw fiber extrusion facility in Clemson, S.C.
