The National Tile Contractors
Association (NTCA) has announced a Five Star Program that recognizes NTCA
members who demonstrate a commitment to training, service, quality, superior
job performance and safety.
Tile Partners for Humanity, the
partnership between the tile industry and Habitat for Humanity, announces the
addition of Bob Daniels, Executive Director Emeritus of the Tile Council of
North America, as the organization’s first industry director.
One of the most popular features of the Coverings show is the series of live
demonstrations that are conducted on the TCNA installation stage; this year will
be no exception.
Surfaces 2008, the floor covering industry’s
leading tradeshow, was held in Las Vegas January 30-February 1, offering installers a chance
to see the latest product introductions for all types of flooring as well as
installation tools and accessories. The show also offered numerous educational
opportunities, with numerous installation seminars and product demonstrations
throughout the three-day event.

and Prism Awards. In issuing the Call for Entries, Coverings organizers
also announced slight restructuring in the prizes and award categories.
Organizers of the
upcoming Surfaces show have lined up various industry veterans
and educators for its 2008 Conference Program — each of which will bring to the
table their brand of proven experiences to help attendees reach their business
potential.
The U.S. Building Council (USGBC) will be offering LEED
workshops in several on-site locations. Full- and half-day courses have been
designed for general contractors, construction managers, and new construction
projects. Various technical review and LEED accreditation exams are also
offered.
