MAPEI Corp. employees volunteer their time and effort at The Friendship House in Garland, Texas.

MAPEI Corp. employees in Garland, Texas, are giving back to their community this holiday season by giving their time and effort to Garland’s Friendship House. Three teams of volunteers recently prepared and distributed bags of grocery items for Thanksgiving meals and are now preparing for gift distribution at Christmas.

The company’s multilingual volunteers helped translate requests for some of Friendship House’s clients, as a large number of the families do not speak English. One of the volunteer teams also helped collect and organize four pickup-truck loads of canned goods from a community school food drive.

“We have had a great time getting to know our neighbors better, and we really appreciate the chance to serve our community,” said Ed Ford, Unit Manager of MAPEI’s Garland manufacturing plant.

Volunteers will also help pass out gifts to the families this Christmas season.
