Turkey’s Glass Furnace glass center recently received two
gifts for its upcoming week-long glass mosaic workshop: Sonia King, a mosaic
artist, educator and author; and a shipment of LATICRETE thin-set mortar.
King’s workshop, designed to offer participants an elevated sense of what
mosaic art is about and provide each artist with the knowledge to take their
skills to the next level.
All of the mosaic glass art was
installed using LATICRETE’s premium thin-set mortar.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to
share what’s happening creatively with fine art mosaics in another part of the
world,” said King. “We were very happy with the generous support shown to us by
LATICRETE. It was very important to use the best adhesives to ensure that the
mosaic art created during the week will last forever.”
The Glass Furnace, an
international glass center built in the green fields of the Black Sea Region,
was established with the goal of providing a high standard of education to its
students, to form a common meeting group for local and international artists
who are interested in glass art, and to contribute to the development of
contemporary Turkish glass and fine arts.
