Like
most of you, when it comes to tools, I’m like that proverbial kid in the candy
store. I couldn’t wait to get to Surfaces, especially the bottom floor, this
year! That’s where I found some of the most fascinating tools and gadgets I’ve
ever seen.
In the thousands
of years the tile setting profession has existed, the basic components of the
job—the tile, the tools, the setting materials—have experienced relatively
little modification overall. However things tend to change more rapidly in
today’s high tech world, and this is true even for the time-honored tradition
of tile setting—specifically, for the category of mortars.
According
to a recent poll by the Wall Street Journal, more than 70 percent of economists
surveyed believe the U.S. economy is now in a full-blown recession. For the
past year, it seems that many in the media have been afraid to utter the
much-feared R word, as if speaking it were breaking some sort of taboo.
Whether
