The additive also prevents dust mite colonies from developing by destroying the symbiotic fungi that they depend on. An attached poly vapor barrier keeps accidental spills from penetrating and saturating the pad. Since fluids can't infiltrate the cushion from the top, stains won't reappear after the carpet has been cleaned. LuxuryWalk contains no BHTs or VOCs, and will not yellow light-colored carpets. No resin bonding of materials means there is no chemical smell, and the synthetic fiber ingredients will not crumble or deteriorate. LuxuryWalk is also easier to cut than latex coated, resin bonded or needle-punched cushions. Recognizing that a segment of consumers still desire economical base grade underlayments, Midwest Padding now markets several thick nesses and densities of base-grade polyethylene foam (PolyFoam) products. These PolyFoam underlayments are a cost-efficient choice under floating wood or laminate floors. DuoFoam is an underlayment that laminates polyethylene film to our PolyFoam underlayment to create a vapor/moisture resistant barrier, making it more suitable for installations over concrete. For a quick and easy installation, DuoFoam with Self Seal has an overlap of film on one edge, with a peel and stick tape strip along the other, making it a very installer-friendly underlayment that reduces installation time.
