Laticrete International has named Nick Macrino architectural group manager. He will report directly to the North America sales manager. In his new position, Macrino will implement the goals of Laticrete to secure specifications on high-profile projects and interact with design professionals, architects and specification writers, the company says. Laticrete has also promoted Walt Stivers to regional sales manager. He will be responsible for managing sales efforts in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Ohio, western Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. He has been with Laticrete since 2005.
Basic Coatings has named Rob Johnson national training manager. The 32-year industry veteran will be responsible for instructing advanced finishing, sanding, and installation techniques, in addition to providing product knowledge to all Basic salespeople, distributors, and wood flooring contractors and installers.
Industry veteran Richard LaRocca has been appointed Best Tile Distributors contractor sales manager for its Shrewsbury, Mass., location. He is responsible for the company re-entry into the commercial sector with contractor-specific training and educational programs -- with the goal of establishing long-term partnerships with tile contractors and other ceramic tile professionals.
Dan Snipes, BonaKemi USA's quality assurance manager, has been distinguished as a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence by the American Society for Quality (ASQ). The ASQ recognition comes only after an applicant passes a series of required tests, and is able to reach a significant level of professional recognition. Snipes has relocated to BonaKemi's Monroe, N.C., facility to assist in maintaining the company's manufacturing processes.
