The Hardwood Council, a national group devoted to helping building professionals, interior designers and woodworkers for effectively specify American hardwoods, has launched a newly revamped website at www.hardwoodcouncil.com. The highlight of the new site is the Species and Stains section, which allows Web visitors to view 21 major American hardwood species in light, medium and dark stains, as well as working characteristics, grades, strength and mechanical properties. Finishing Hardwoods, another new section, includes details on how to prepare wood for finishing, as well as information on dyes, stains, sealers and glazes.
