We received some very sad news this morning about two of our members who were at the convention. I just received a call from Duey Johnson that his daughter, Deb has passed away. She lost the battle to accept the new organs on August 21. After the convention, she appeared to be improving, but it just didn't last. Her body will be cremated in Jacksonville, Florida. Memorial services will be later in North Dakota. Duey will let us now the date. Donna and Duey are in Jacksonville at this time.
Please remember the family in your prayers and send a note of encouragement to:

The other bad news concerns Mike Lassetter of Capitol USA. I just received this information from Jeff Johnson, vice president of Capitol USA. This is extremely sad also. Please help Mike in any way that you can. It will be most appreciated. Mike returned home from the CFI Convention on Sunday morning and found this horrible sadness: his son is dead and the apartment was completely destroyed.
From Jeff Johnson:
It has also come to my attention that Mike Lassetter did not have any type of insurance to cover his losses due to the fire in his apartment. Nor did Kevin, his deceased son, have a life insurance policy, so Mike is going to be facing significant recovery costs along with the grief that he must be feeling right now.
We are taking donations for Mike, and anyone interested in helping out can send checks to Capitol USA to the attention of Amanda Hyde. Donors can either write the check to Capitol USA or Mike Lassetter. I am sure that any contributions to Mike are going to be well received. The mailing address is:

We thank all of you for your prayers and concerns.
