Taylor Tools introduces One-Step Seam-Weld System
Taylor Tools has introduced its One-Step Seam-Weld system, which eliminates the need for application of a seam adhesive prior to seaming by combining the processes of seam sealing and seaming. This results in substantial time saving and the virtual elimination of seam peaking. The process creates a joint that has proven to be stronger than the rest of the carpet. The system has been approved by officials of Mohawk Industries and Shaw Carpets as "an effective way to make and seal seams when used by a trained installer in compliance with CRI-105.
The primary component of the One-Step System is the Taylor Tools #893 Seam-Weld Iron, which channels a precise amount of hot melt adhesive directly to the carpet seam edges, locking in the face yarns while simultaneously welding the seam together. Proper installation procedure is essential for optimum results, and requires minimal training information available from Taylor Tools.
