At the WFCA-sponsored CFI Leadership Conference, 110 members completed the WFCA-Certified Flooring Professional Certification.

The CFI 10th anniversary celebration, "The Great Race of Success," in Kansas City, Mo., Aug. 13-16, was deemed a success by organizers and attendees.

The CFI Leadership Conference, sponsored by the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), opened the celebration.

"Associate Day" was attended by all to learn about the manufacturers' products and watch demonstrations.
Educational events began with Armstrong's Residential Certification Test, which this year was presented at no cost for those who participated. Members selected from two of the many seminars offered during the afternoon session. The new CFI Directory was also presented during convention.

Buses were boarded for the Great Race, a Nascart event provided by the CFI 2003 Jacket Sponsors. Installers and associates competed in teams of 16 to win a four-color, two-page center advertisement in the CFI Professional. John Copsey of Maryland, driving for Shur-Fast Fasteners of Canada, won the final race. Second place was awarded to Jeremy Shoning, driving for S.I. Flooring Systems. Third place went to Tom Cudney, driving for MAPEI.
