Education was a focal point of the convention

Roundtables provide access to a deep well of knowledge
The FCICA (Floor Covering Installation Contractors Association) 19th annual convention took a giant step forward March 27-31 in New Orleans. Attendees and observers gave the convention high marks, generally agreeing that the FCICA rose to its highest level in providing education to its members.

Under the appropriate title "Investment in Education" the convention proved to be an excellent investment with excellent returns for attendees. Noteworthy was the variety of subjects presented. The focus was on the industry's products; technical subjects; installation; business management; and hiring and training employees. Simply put, the issues that affect a company's bottom line and much more.

Some of the areas covered included: “Collection and Credit Procedures;” “Proper Adhesive Selection and Warranty;” “Recruitment and Retention of Employees;” “Implementing the Floorcovering Installation Training Program (FIT);” “Moisture Emissions Testing;” “Improving Contractor's Installation Efficiency (tools, equipment, methods and procedures);” “Pattern Carpet Solutions;” “Carpet Backing Systems;” “Avoiding Failures Over Concrete Subfloors;” “Interpreting Carpet Problems and Solutions To Correct Them;” and “Resilient Installation Issues.”
