The American Concrete Institute has published its first-ever Spanish edition of 318-05: Building Code Requirements for Structure Concrete and Commentary. Included in the publication, called "Requisitos de Reglamento para Concreto Estructural y Comentario" in Spanish, are the latest code requirements for concrete building design and construction. The 2005 edition features improved readability and several technical changes, according to the Institute.
In addition, the Concrete Institute announced that, due to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, it plans to change the location of its fall convention from New Orleans. Now at the Kansas City Marriott and Convention Center in Kansas City, Mo., the convention will take place on the same dates, Nov. 6-10.
