We're here for you, and the time is right. The new leadership of the FCICA is continuing the pursuit of excellence in installation and professionalism by bringing together an outstanding group of experts to make the FCICA Convention 2000 the best yet.
The most influential contractors are always looking ahead, continually working to be on the cutting edge of business and service. These people belong to many organizations that keep them informed about new technologies and experiences that get results, and establish a network of professionals that fuel problem solving and circumvention.
This holds true for the FCICA membership as well. Come to San Diego, CA, Feb. 23-27, 2000, for the annual gathering of these energetic flooring contractors and associates. As an added incentive, Convention 2000 will be held in conjunction with the InterCon Trade Show, attracting attendees from all areas of the commercial interior construction industry.
Convention attendees will find all FCICA committees hard at work, preparing reports of activity for presentation to the membership. Keynote Speaker George Hedley of Hardhat Seminars’ first session will be "Profit Driven Leadership-Connect Top Line Vision To Bottom Line Results.” Profit-driven leaders get results through influencing, motivating, and making people want to follow you. Hedley will also present “How to Win More Profitable Business,” where attendees will learn how to track and improve their 'bid-hit' ratio and enhance their chances by becoming a recognized expert.
Brooks Hillard of Business Automation Associates will present “Essential Internet Strategies for Contractors,” focusing on ways contracting firms can best use the Internet to step up communications to gain a competitive advantage, and establish a market presence that translates into customer preference. Hillard will also provide information on how to partner with high-volume web sites to reach the home improvement market, and how to respond more effectively to architect, owner and general contractor demands.
Howard Olansky, senior editor of both National Floor Trends and Floor Covering Installer magazines, will speak on "Future Industry Trends.” Olansky's position affords him the knowledge of what it takes to be an industry leader both today and in the future. As a bonus, Claudia Lezell of Inspections Too, Inc., will present a comprehensive seminar that breaks down the scientific complexities of concrete, moisture, and related floor-failure issues. All this will be presented in "layman's terms” with hands-on demonstrations of field inspection equipment.
Another important reason to attend this year's convention is a scheduled educational session on the Floorcovering Installation Training (FIT) curriculum. Attendees will be briefed on the philosophy of this method for training competent installation professionals. The FIT committee will be available for questions and answers. The FCICA feels that as a contractor member and FIT Subscriber, you will meet your customer service goals and truly be on the forefront of industry growth.
