Swedish floor finish maker BonaKemi says it plans to open a manufacturing facility in the United States, likely somewhere in the Southeastern region. Once a final location is settled, plans call for the plant to be fully operation in a year's time.
The production plant will serve all of North America and share the production of waterborne finishes with BonaKemi's headquarters in Malmo, Sweden, which currently produces the finish and ships it to locations all over the world, including BonaKemi USA, the North American subsidiary of BonaKemi AB.
"Having a U.S.-based Bona facility helps us handle recent dramatic growth," said Ron Peden, BonaKemi USA president and CEO.
The plant will also feature a new Bona Training Center for the company's popular sanding and finishing schools.
