Following 2005 plant fire, MP Global "plans to grow"
July 1, 2006
MP Global Products (formerly Midwest Padding) has resumed manufacturing in a new facility at their corporate headquarters in Norfolk, Neb. Reconstruction began almost immediately after a fire destroyed their fiber pad factory in March 2005. The new state-of-the-art factory will have almost double the output capacity of the old plant.
The company also operates additional manufacturing facilities for polyethylene foam underlayments as well as KwikDek and SnapStone floor coverings in multiple locations. The Norfolk plant produces the company's best-selling product: "QuietWalk" underlayment for floating laminate and wood floors.
Kelly Kennedy, MP Global Products' national sales manager, said he was touched by the loyalty and patience of his customers. "We plan to grow in 2006 with the same distributors and dealers we had before the fire," he said. He noted that the company has put together a program with Carpet One, and will provide dealers with in-store displays in conjunction with a national advertising push.
