It is estimated that concrete moisture and alkalinity-related floor failures cost over a billion dollars in the U.S. each year in repair and replacement costs, damages and downtime. These problems are the biggest obstacles facing what would otherwise be a successful flooring installation over concrete slabs.
CCFS’s Concrete Testing Division has therefore launched a website for explaining moisture and alkalinity issues relating to floor coverings and testing for such.
The tests include: Moisture Vapor Emission Rate, Relative Humidity in Concrete Floor Slabs, Relative Humidity on the Surface of Concrete Floor Slabs and Alkalinity/pH Level on the Surface of Concrete Floor Slabs.
