The second CFI Corrective Flooring Procedures Workshop is scheduled for October 8-10th in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The workshop covers corrective procedures for carpet, laminate, ceramic, hardwood and resilient flooring surfaces.  It is specifically designed for dealers, installers, manufacturers, cleaners, inspectors and others in the industry who are responsible for the correction of problems that surface during or after the installation.

The training includes corrective procedures for CARPET burns, spots and restretch techniques; LAMINATE plank replacement, both glue and click and the hot-melt corrective system; CERAMIC / STONE includes individual tile replacement, grout rework and hot-melt corrective system; the HARD-WOOD training includes pre-finished board replacement of glue-down and nail-down, touch-up using stains and finishes and the hot-melt corrective system and included in the RESILIENT section are corrective techniques for tears, burns and gouges.

Many of the procedures are unique to the industry.  During the “hands-on” skills sessions, the attendees learn by correcting problems and understanding the requirements of the techniques.    The course provides an opportunity to learn the latest corrective procedures and technical information in classroom and skills sessions.

“This course is unlike any in the industry,” said Jon Namba, CFI Executive Director, who is known as a skilled craftsman in all flooring surfaces. “The attendees must arrive prepared to work and absorb an abundance of information that will enhance their skills and prepare them to become more involved with difficult situations that may arise in their companies.”

CFI educational programs qualify for 100% tuition through the World Floor Covering Association’s scholarship funds, which provide an excellent opportunity to participate in industry training programs.  For information concerning membership, contact CFI at (816) 231.4646.
