Through its Charitable Contributions Committee (CCC), Pergo
recently partnered with several local organizations to make the winter season
more enjoyable for families throughout North
Carolina.
During
November and December, Pergo employees collected winter coats and accessories
for the “Coats for Children Telethon,” sponsored by CBS affiliate WRAL-TV in Raleigh. In
addition to the approximately 180 items contributed, Pergo presented a monetary
donation to telethon organizers during the event, which was broadcast live on
Dec. 12. Since 1989, the “Coats for Children Telethon” has collected more
than 103,000 coats and raised $1 million to purchase winter clothing for
families assisted by the Salvation Army.
Also, in
early December, employees at four Pergo corporate locations amassed a
collection of games, bikes, musical instruments and other gifts for kids
through the annual “Toys for Tots” campaign. More than 350 toys were
donated, and Pergo Corporate gave a Nintendo Wii gaming system to the Central
Children’s Home in Oxford, N.C., which provides family-centered
services to children and youth.
“I’m proud of Pergo’s
employees for once again showing generosity to the Raleigh area,” said George Kelley, CEO of
Pergo North America. “We are pleased to work with organizations that help
families – especially children – during the winter season.”
Founded in
1999, the CCC aims to help residents in the communities where Pergo employees
work and live. Each year, the CCC supports various organizations and
causes through both corporate contributions and individual employee donations.
