Mannington Mills was recently named a U.S. Department of
Energy Save Energy Now LEADER, which recognizes companies that aim to improve
energy efficiency by 25 percent over the next 10 years.
“For years
we have been saying that actions speak,” said Dave Kitts, Mannington’s vp
environment. “At Mannington, we are expanding our standing efforts to reduce
energy used compared to product manufactured, to include this partnership with
the Department of Energy.”
“By taking
this pledge, Mannington Mills has established itself among the vanguard of
forward-thinking American companies as a leader in industrial energy efficiency,”
noted U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu in a letter to Mannington executives.
Other
flooring companies involved in the program include 3M, The Dow Chemical Co.,
