Shaw Industries Group, Inc. said it has acquired
substantially all of the assets of Stuart Flooring Corp.'s hardwood strip
manufacturing facility in Stuart, Va. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Established
in 1922, Stuart manufactures unfinished solid wood flooring and unfinished
parquet flooring for residential applications. In addition to retailers and
distributors, Stuart customers include original equipment manufacturers that
finish products to their own specifications.

acquisition of Stuart enhances our solid wood supply chain and substantially
increases both our sales capacity and product capability in this segment.
Stuart’s reputation as a high quality producer is a great fit with our Zickgraf
solid wood assets. This is another step in becoming our customers’ preferred
hardwood vendor in quality and styling,” said Vance D. Bell, Shaw's ceo.
