Mr. David’s Flooring International celebrated winning the Starnet Awards for Healthcare and Grand Prize with the project owner, Central Dupage Hospital. Also present at the event, held June 11, was the design and architectural firm, RTKL Associates, Inc.

During a luncheon at Mr. David’s Flooring International, Michael Zmijewski, vice president of Mr. David’s, shared individual awards with all those who participated in the floor and wall covering installations at the hospital’s pediatric suite.

“The project was exciting and challenging,” Zmijewski said, “and we think it was greatly deserving of the Starnet Award. Central Dupage had a wonderful design, and we are very pleased that we were able to help them bring it from concept to reality.”

These awards are based on a national flooring design competition entered by Starnet members and their local design partners from the United States and Canada.

“Year after year, the Starnet Design Awards represent the very best in commercial flooring design and installation,” said Jeanne Matson, president and ceo of Starnet. “I remain amazed at the technical expertise of our members and creative vision of their designers for achieving such incredible installation results. This level of work is truly a testament to the caliber of craftsmanship available within the ranks of our own membership. If your designer or architect can envision it, a Starnet member using the industry’s best materials can make it a reality. Kudos to the Design Award winners, all of our members, as well as the designers, architects and our vendor partners.”

“Mr. David’s is honored with this recognition,” said Leonard Zmijewski, owner and president of Mr. David’s. “The Central DuPage Hospital project was a terrific project and the design developed by RTKL gave us the freedom to create a beautiful flooring installation, which works beautifully with the total environment.”
