Tarkett Residential announced today an increase in prices
for its resilient floor products, including FiberFloor, vinyl sheet and NAFCO
Luxury Floors. The company will increase prices by 6 percent, effective July 1,
2010.
The company
noted that cost cutting measures and internal expense reductions had allowed it
to absorb most raw material and energy cost increases to date, but that Tarkett
is not immune to the rising costs affecting the overall hard surface flooring
industry.
“The
escalating costs of raw materials, transportation and energy needed in the
manufacture of flooring are the drivers of this current price increase,” said
Bill Cralley, president of Tarkett Residential NA. “We are sensitive to raising
our customers’ prices just as the economy shows signs of recovery, but the
increases from our suppliers are so significant that we have no other option
but to pass on a portion of the increase.”
