Consolidated Carpet has partnered with Bentley Prince Street and The Salvadori Center to host a 2011 Celebrate Earth event for New York City schoolchildren. The event will be held at the Bentley Prince Street Showroom at 91 Fifth Avenue, New York City on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.

Celebrate Earth is a special hands-on learning workshop that promotes sustainable design principles. New York City design firms and partners will work with groups of sixth to eighth grade children, identified by The Salvadori Center, a non-profit dedicated to math and science education for children in New York City schools, to design models that emphasize sustainable design and utilize environmentally-friendly materials. Prizes will be awarded to each child and gifts to adult designers for their participation.

Consolidated Carpet is committed to helping organizations achieve their green building goals as they relate to flooring and carpet installation. They are actively involved with various green projects, including a number of LEED accredited jobs. Additionally, Consolidated supports its clients with reclamation programs through their ConServe Reclamation initiative, so that flooring materials will be recycled instead of going into landfills. Consolidated Carpet will showcase the latest environmental technologies and green techniques that are used by the flooring industry at the event.
