The International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association (CFI), in conjunction with Mohawk Industries, will hold a Basic Carpet Installation/CFI R I Carpet Certification course Oct. 25-26 in Dalton, Ga.

The two-day course will focus on hands-on, skills training and knowledge for entry-level flooring installers. Certification will be awarded if the requirements of this level are achieved and installers pass the written test. Assistance is given and all skills are assessed and new ideas offered to achieve satisfaction and pride. Topics for this course include:
  • Seam construction – Avoiding seam problems
  • Powerstretching techniques – Wall trimming
  • Pattern alignment
  • Stair Upholstery
  • Direct-Glue installation techniques
  • Substrate Preparation
  • Carpet Backings
A minimum of two years experience is required for CFI Certification. Cost for the course is $290. As an added bonus, the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) offers trade scholarships up to $500 per member. All CFI Events are covered 100% up to your limit.
