The American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), in conjunction with the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA), will host The Flat Floor Fracas, Division 3 vs. Division 9 Specifications, on Friday, Sept. 16 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Flooring contractors and concrete contractors continue the age old battle over floor tolerances. Yet both need the same outcome: a floor that meets specifications and provides the slab required for installing the floor covering. Incompatible measuring methods, lack of communication, specification differences and other issues complicate the problem. Join ASCC and NTCA as they come together to share experiences and work toward solutions.

The event will feature presentations by the ASCC and NTCA, as well as sessions that cover the issue of floor flatness from the concrete inspector’s perspective, the tile contractor’s perspective and the general contractor’s perspective. There is no charge to attend the NTCA seminar only; cost for the whole day is $125. The Flat Floor Fracas will take place at the Amway Grand Hotel in Grand Rapids, Mich., starting at 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 16.
