MECHANICVILLE - A carpet and floor tile installer was charged Tuesday with scamming employees and customers out of more than $300,000, the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office said.

From 2008 to 2010, Jason Rich paid his crews at J.M. Rich LLC less than the required wage for 30 jobs at schools, hospitals and a county jail, but filed false payroll statements that led the government-funded agencies to believe he was paying the required wages, the district attorney's office said.
