Radiant Flooring Guide wins publishing excellence award
The 2012 edition of the Radiant Flooring Guide, a joint venture by the Radiant Professionals Alliance and BNP Media, recently was presented a 2012 APEX Award for Publication Excellence in the Custom-Published Magazines & Journals category. APEX awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and success of the entry — according to the judges — in communicating effectively.
The RFG’s editor is Kelly Faloon, who also is the managing editor of Plumbing & Mechanical magazine, a BNP Media publication. Other staff includes Joe Kwasniewski, art director; Vince Miconi, production manager; and Roy Wagner, advertising manager.
Filled with four-color photographs, illustrations, charts and tables, the Radiant Flooring Guide includes detailed articles on how to match various floor covering and subflooring materials with radiant heating systems, including reasons to choose radiant floors, where to use them and how they are constructed. A complete reference guide on flooring materials for radiant systems is provided — from traditional materials such as tile, wood and carpet to environmentally friendly options such as laminates, decorative concrete, cork, natural linoleum and recycled rubber — to help create both beautiful and comfortable floors.
A total of 3,382 entries were evaluated for the 2012 APEX awards, including 601 entries in the Magazines & Journals category. A total of 1,027 APEX Awards of Excellence were presented in 103 individual categories, including 14 awards in the Custom-Published Magazines & Journals category. The APEX Excellence Awards program is sponsored by Communication Concepts, a publishing, public relations and marketing consulting firm.
