FCICA Convention 2014 Registration Now Open
The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA), announced on-line registration is open and its tour schedule is set for Convention 2014, taking place at the Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center in St. Pete Beach, Fla., March 2 – 5, 2014.
Saturday, March 1, 2014 – Deep Sea Fishing Excursion
Spend the day reeling in “the big one” on a fully equipped six-passenger boat while fishing the water of the West Coast of Florida which offers an array of challenging game fish which are sure to offer you a good fight. Depending on the time of year, you may be fishing for Grouper, King Fish, Cobia, Barracuda, Amberjack, Black Fin Tuna or Tarpon.

Monday, March 3, 2014 – Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Sea Life Safari Cruise
Since its inception, CMA has rescued more than 1,500 animals. Many of these are threatened or endangered species. See Dolphins, Sea Turtles, River Otters, Nurse Sharks and maybe feed some Rays while there. Go Behind the scenes and see the working animal hospital. See Winter, the most famous dolphin in the world. The Sea Life Safari Boat Tour includes a 90 minute trip into the beautiful coastal waters. You’ll witness data collection in action as they perform their net pull and pass around sea critters before releasing them back into the bay. Lunch at a favorite beach restaurant is included.
Tuesday, March 4, 2014 – Ybor City Tour
Tampa is a city rich in history, abundant with architecture and bountiful ethnic charm. At the Ybor City State Museum, you will discover the colorful diversity of this National Landmark neighborhood with its Italian, Spanish and Cuban heritage. At the museum, guests will learn the history of the cigar industry; visit a charming “shot-gun” style cottage and the State Museum. Built in 1891 by the railroad magnate Henry B. Plant, the H.B. Plant Museum was first built as the posh and glamorous Tampa Bay Hotel. Designed by the Moorish Revival style, the 500 –room hotel was the first large, fully electrified building in Tampa. In 1977 it became a National Historic Landmark and although the University of Tampa now occupies what was once this grand hotel, a wing has been set aside as a museum to display artifacts and historic furnishings from the hotel.
Enjoy lunch at the historic Columbia Restaurant founded in 1905 as a local café and now over 100 years later under the same family ownership.
