Domotex asia/Chinafloor will present the “World of Handmade Carpets” as well as the second edition of InnovAction flooring at the upcoming show set for March 25-27 at Shanghai New International Exhibitions Centre in Shanghai, China. According to show organizers, this year’s event “has increased both its size and value for exhibitors and visitors. The 16th edition of Domotex asia/Chinafloor will cover 140,000 gross square meters and add new or expanded specialty venues.”

Flooring categories at Domotex asia/Chinafloor are set to include solid and engineered wood; laminate; cork; Floortech asia (featuring flooring manufacturing technologies); Laytech & Protech (featuring installation and maintenance technologies); under-floor heating systems; bamboo flooring; carpet; carpet tiles; textile wall-to-wall flooring, mats; fibers, yarns and carpet raw materials; carpet production, installation, cleaning and maintenance technologies; resilient; sport flooring; industrial flooring; wood polymer composite flooring; and ceramic tiles and stones.

Additionally, show organizers have added one new exhibit hall (hall E7). About 1,200 exhibitors are set to attend the show, with show-goers including distributors, wholesalers, retailers, franchise dealers, buyers, real estate developers, architects and designers, contractors, project managers, owners, associations, government officials and others.

The World of Handmade Carpets is a new themed area for international exhibitors of handmade carpets. Previously, both handmade and machine-made products were shown in the same halls. “In 2014, international handmade carpets producers will appear separately in hall W5 where rugs, education, demonstrations of techniques and historical and cultural influences will merge to create an educational buying experience. Machine-made carpets and rugs will remain in hall W1, the traditional international hall for this product category,” show organizers noted.

Exhibitors from countries including Iran, India and Pakistan will install pavilions at the handmade carpet area. Daily live performances will demonstrate techniques, materials, cultural influences and distinguished product characteristics. Manufacturers are invited to submit one example of their work for display and judging by visitors whose vote will decide the most beautiful handmade rug at the show.

InnovAction Flooring Centre will gather in one area all of the best new products of the year selected by a panel of judges. Last year, nearly 4,000 visitors voted in the online InnovAction flooring campaign where 200 new products could be previewed. A selection of those products was also displayed together in a special venue at the show. In its first year, the program resulted in 644 pre-show contacts.

In 2014, show organizers will expand the interactive online system for previewing selected products, promotional opportunities and appointment setting. The physical InnovAction spotlight venue will move into the Architects and Designers Hub. All pre-registered visitors will have access to the online service.
