The International Surface Event East (TISE East) will launch its inaugural show Oct. 19-22 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Fla. A regional East Coast version of the International Surface Event held yearly in Las Vegas, the tradeshow will combine Surfaces, StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas and TileExpo within two exhibit halls. Show-goers can attend more than 50 educational sessions, along with on-floor demos, networking events, certification programs, off-site tours and see thousands of the latest products and technologies.

“Our partners have been requesting a fall show for several years and with the economic recovery clearly underway, we are confident TISE East will attract a brand new audience which will translate into new business for exhibitors,” said Dana Teague, vice president, Hanley Wood Exhibitions.

A partial list of participating exhibitors at press time include Bedrosians, Dream Weaver, DriTac Flooring Products, Franklin International Inc., GranQuartz, International Concrete Repair Institute, Kane Carpet, Lignomat USA, MAPEI, Measure Square Corp., National Gypsum Co., National Wood Flooring Association, Stanton Carpet, The Max Windsor Group, Tramex, USG, Versatrim and Wagner Meters.

In response to increasing demand for continuing education and industry certifications, show hours have been adjusted to allow both exhibitors and attendees the opportunity to take advantage of a newly revamped education program. TISE East exhibit hours are 1-6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, and Tuesday, Oct. 21; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22.  Education sessions will be offered from 12:30–5:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 19; 8 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Oct. 20 and 21; and 8-11 a.m. Oct. 22.

The education program includes more than 50 educational sessions targeted to specific audience segments: architects, builders, designers, retailers/dealers, fabricators, installers, distributors and care/maintenance/restoration professionals. In the installer track, presentations are set to include moisture testing, stone and tile grout restoration and maintenance, “waterproofing” products, glass tile, thin tile and an overview of wood flooring, among other topics.

The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) will be offering installers Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Technician Certification, following the successful ICRI certification event at Surfaces earlier this year.
