Four educational sessions were also offered during the three-day event: “Managing On-Site Conditions,” presented by Tom Lutz of INSTALL Michigan; “Managing Materials on the Jobsite,” presented by J.R. Allred of Dalton Carpet One Floor & Home; “Managing Change Orders,” presented by Mike Newberry of Inside Edge Commercial Interior Services; and “Practical Applications for Wood Flooring in the Commercial Market,” presented by Brett Miller of the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA).
Three of the sessions were recorded for the group’s online Certified Installation Manager (CIM) training program. Kelly Fuller, director of education, stated, “FCICA’s commitment to education for our members is evident in this year’s Mid-Year sessions. Not only did we capture three more information-loaded modules in the CIM Program, we were also fortunate enough to have Brett Miller from NWFA to educate us on wood flooring.” To learn more about the CIM program visit www.fcica.com/training-program.
The FCICA Events mobile app was also unveiled at the Mid-Year Meeting. “The app was a huge success and we are very pleased with the compliments we received regarding the app and overall usage from the attendees. We would also like to thank Flexco for sponsoring the premier of the FCICA Events app,” said Sarah Bays, membership and website coordinator.
FCICA’s annual convention, themed “Riding the Wave of Success,” is scheduled for March 1-4 at the Kona Kai Resort & Marina in San Diego, Calif. For more information, visit www.fcica.com.
