Bostik has developed HXD (High Cross-Linking Density) Technology, an exclusive formulation offering a high performance resin system in pre-mixed grout, according to the company.
Bostik Develops HXD Technology
January 22, 2015
This HXD Technology enables Bostik premium, pre-mixed grouts to offer toughness, water and stain resistance.
Bostik HXD Technology contains a high concentration of cross-linking molecules offering a larger, unified polymer structure or macro-molecule, which is incredibly durable and resistant to penetration and staining from fluids, according to the company. These characteristics provide outstanding performance in wet environments, further enhanced by proprietary additives that repel stains. This adhesion technology enables the formation of a robust, dense polymer matrix.
Initiated when Bostik launched its RapidCure formulations, HXD has been further refined over the past 12 months. As a result, the firm has engineered this exclusive resin system, which is available in its TruColor RapidCure, QuartzLock2, RapidCure, Dimension RapidCure and Neverseal products.
“The old adage, ‘you get what you pay for’ holds true here. Bostik conducts comprehensive material science research on a global basis, using the best performing polymers available to solve application challenges,” said Scott Banda, director of marketing for Bostik’s consumer and construction business unit. “We collaborate in research with global specialty polymer producers, operating in numerous challenging markets such as aerospace, marine, transportation, energy and personal hygiene. This intense and extensive experience in the harshest of environments has enabled Bostik to develop its HXD Technology.”
