Aspen White Oak Castle Creek hardwood flooring from Harris Wood, a Q.E.P. brand, was selected by show goers at The International Surface Event (TISE) 2015 in Las Vegas earlier this year as the Best New Product. Aspen White Oak Castle Creek mimics a weathered and worn wood in a low-maintenance, prefinished engineered floor. The ultra-low gloss levels coupled with a white oak appearance provides a visual designed to complement many settings, according to the company.

The FinishLoc collection of tongue and groove planks is available in 5” widths and a 3/8” thickness, in random lengths up to 46 1/4”. Covering 34 square feet per carton, the flooring features a micro-beveled side and edge treatment along with an ultra-low gloss level in 10 colors. The product can be installed as a floating, glue-, nail- or staple-down floor and carries a lifetime warranty.

The award marks the second time in two years Q.E.P. has taken home the Best New Product award. The award is voted on by show goers in the Product Marketplace, a special section of the Surfaces show floor devoted to sneak peeks of products, and sponsored by Floor Covering Installer, Floor Trends, Tile Magazine, Contemporary Stone & Tile Design and Stone World.

Q.E.P.’s Jamie Clingan, senior vice president of marketing, said winning the prize was an honor and “it was unexpected [for us] to win this year as well.” Regarding the show she added, “It’s a chance to see the new trends, colors and products, and connect both with competitors and customers to get feedback. Brands are aiming to look more natural, and collections with low-gloss and natural looks are what’s trending in flooring.”
