Fishman Flooring Solutions has announced its purchase of Tri-State Floor Covering Supplies effective today. Tri-State, which has been distributing products to the flooring installation industry since 1974, is headquartered in Cincinnati and operates two branches in Columbus, Ohio, and single locations in Dayton, Ohio, and Crescent Springs, Ky. 

 

“Acquiring Tri-State, in conjunction with Fishman’s established presence in the Akron, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo areas, gives our firm a solid base across the entire Ohio market and creates a platform for expanding our business in Kentucky and other nearby states,” said Bob Wagner, president and CEO of Fishman. “Strategic acquisitions like this are part of our plan for growth, as are building our business organically and expanding our product portfolio.”

 

The goal of the Tri-State acquisition, according to Wagner, is for the combined organization to be stronger than the separate businesses. Tri-State customers will now benefit from Fishman’s unyielding focus on delighting the customer, its complementary product lines, as well as the state-of-the-art technology the firm uses to operate its business. This includes web order entry and remote access to product information, advanced truck routing and state-of-the-art purchasing capability, which enables Fishman to quickly fill special orders.

 

Based on its previous acquisitions, Fishman anticipates a seamless transition to new ownership for Tri-State customers. Key members of the Tri-State team will join Fishman Flooring Solutions and Tri-State founder Greg McSwain will be involved in the firm’s day-to-day operations for the foreseeable future. The newly-acquired branches will operate under the name Tri-State Fishman Flooring Solutions.
