MP Global Products’ LuxWalk, a high-performing underlayment engineered specifically to cushion floating or glue-down Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), delivers impressive numbers in IIC and STC tests, said the company.

 

In recent IIC and STC tests, LuxWalk installed under 5mm floating luxury vinyl tile over 6” concrete with no ceiling achieved a sound rating of 52. 

 

In acoustical tests with thinner, 4.2mm luxury vinyl planks installed over LuxWalk and 6” concrete with a suspended ceiling, the product achieved a sound rating of IIC 72 and STC 66.

 

According to the company, LuxWalk adds the ideal amount of cushioning under LVT, which can otherwise easily compress to the base when pressure is applied. It also minimizes impressions and indentations that can occur in the finished floor. LuxWalk is available in 3’ by 66’8” rolls.
