The Floor Educational Guild has updated its Wood Science class for wood flooring professionals, which will take place in Virginia Tech's wood laboratory June 13 and 14, and June 16 and 17.
With class sizes of 13 to 14 students, participants will be further divided into three smaller groups for an optimized teaching and learning experience.
The professors will be utilizing a different approach when teaching about wood flooring and topics that will be covered include density and specific gravity and its application to flooring; engineered wood flooring, wood and moisture relationships; strength of wood flooring and moisture, subfloor panels moisture properties and environmental building science.
The tuition is $550, and members of the World Floor Covering Association members qualify for WFCA scholarship funds covering up to 50% of the tuition.
