MP Global Products' new QuietWalk is an earth-friendly fiber acoustic and insulating underlayment for laminate and floating wood floors.
Manufactured to fulfill environmental interests, QuietWalk is third-party certified made with at least 94% recycled material (post-industrial textiles diverted from landfill) and in projects aiming for LEED certification, can be used to contribute to earning credits in the category of material and resources, according to the company.
QuietWalk is ideal for installations where indoor air quality is a consideration. Odorless, hypoallergenic, and VOC-free, it is 3rd party certified for low emissions, enabling it to contribute in the LEED category of Indoor Air Quality and conforms to the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) – CA Section 01350. Plus, it is made in America, eliminating any associated overseas shipping and minimizing transportation costs.
QuietWalk is engineered to control sound. Meeting or exceeding IIC and STC sound ratings, it dampens ambient sound in the room it’s installed in and helps minimize impact and airborne sound from traveling into the room below. In addition, its randomly air-laid filaments create a capillary effect to cushion the floor, absorb sound and help floating floors sound more like fastened wood.
