Robert Varden, vice president of the International Certified Flooring Installers Association (CFI), has announced the lineup of training seminars, hands-on workshops and presentations for the group’s 25th annual convention, set for August 15 to 17 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla.
“Along with our 25th anniversary celebration, this year’s show is going to be unlike any other industrywide,” said Varden. “Along with educational seminars providing insights on the issues that affect us most, hands-on workshops taught by field leaders showcasing the best tips and tricks, demos of the latest and greatest tools and products, and opportunities to expand your professional network, we have some surprises in store.”
The event will open with a Welcome Reception, giving attendees the chance to network with CFI trainers, presenters and representatives from companies including Gundlach, Measure Square, Schönox HPS North America and more.
Renowned business coach and consultant Josh McGinnis will present his “Why Most Business Plans Are Worthless” keynote on Thursday, August 16. During a day of product showcases, workshops and hands-on demonstrations, attendees will also hear the results of recently concluded Floor Covering Leadership Council research aimed at quantifying the skilled labor shortage in the flooring installation industry. The night will wrap up with “CFI Event Night,” another chance to network.
The last day of the show will include general sessions and opportunities to speak with industry veterans including Joe Cea of Congoleum, Don Styka of Tarkett, and Paul Pleshek of the National Academy of Floor Covering Training (NAFCT). The show will wrap up with a closing dinner and CFI’s presentation of its annual awards.
